Drawing

Drawing

Drawing to me is exploring different ways of seeing, connecting the dots and fostering high collaboration between my eyes, hands and the materials I choose.

I like fast sketches that catch movement and emotion and occasionally I add words to them. I have a preference for materials that bring their own character to the table and are hard to control, like china ink or charcoal. This, I think is also reflected in the people I enjoy surrounding myself with.

While I have not pursued formal artistic eduction in drawing, I have had the pleasure of learning with and being inspired by different artists as David Hedderman in Berlin and Gagan Singh in Mumbai.

I am currently designing a drawing course series that explores nature in the city with a focus on trees throughout the four seasons. Ping me if you are interested in drawing along.

Typewerk

And there is Typewerk. Typewerk are my friend Amanda Sauter and me. We like creating beautiful things from paper. Our collaboration blends graphic design elements with hand drawings. A couple years back, we were drawn to experimenting with the risograph, a soy based printing method that uses a machine similar to a copier, but works with layers. It's known for its vibrant colors, unique textures, and tactile feel.

As we both enjoy making things we decided one day to create a set of prints which we first sold at the Kulturmarkt in Zurich.
